Begin OCDE Student Technology Showcase Project - A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words (link)
- Students were divided into teams and each team selected a leader
- Leader created a Google Drive Folder & shared it with others in the group
- Leader created a Google Doc with student responsibilities listed in the document
- Read story and create Stage 1 Digital Poster on ORIGINAL version of their story
- Create Stage 2 Digital Poster on a REVISED setting on their story
- Students prepare for OCDE STS interviews in December.
December 2014 - Applied Tech merged with ELM class to showcase their work & collaborate with Stage 3 Story
OCDE STS judges arrived to interview Applied Tech students
Created Stage 3 Digital Poster on "Redeeming the Villain" while collaborating with ELM students
- ELM students wrote a story (roughly 1000 words) on the new version of the story
- Students created a mind-map of their Stage 3 Digital Poster as well as a written summary
January 2015 - Applied Tech students prepared for official OCDE Film Crew arrival on January 6, 2015
- Film Crew interviewed and recorded students working on the Showcase Project
- Students presented in front of the class with their "pitch" for Stage 3 poster and why their story should
be made into a movie. Audience analyzed the "pitch" and recorded their opinions on Google Form.
Student representatives are selected to represent the city of Anaheim in the OCDE Tech Showcase
- OCDE Office, Building A, Board Room, 4:30pm to 6:00pm for public to attend the dress-rehearsal
- Dress-Rehearsal was on January 13, 2015 (See Flyer for details - PDF)
- Official PR Photos are taken at the OCDE office of all student representatives for the OCDE Tech Showcase
- Final Showcase was on January 31, 2015 (see STS 2015 website)
- Mr. and Mrs. Hernandez visits the students at the showcase at Serra Catholic School.
Each Applied Tech group contributed a sample of their work to the official Showcase poster board
February 2015 - Guest Speaker from Katella - Kelly Juarez (AUHSD District Grant Representative, High School Senior, multiple
art competition winner)
Applied Tech students performed a short skit on video for 6th grade day students (see video)
Started and finished life scenarios on TeachBanzai.com
Researched and created a career display board for Vital Link Showcase (link)
Wrote a student grant for the Rainy Rainwater Conservation Project (rain barrel) (pic of team)
March 2015 - Started and finished a food truck business on Venture!
Students printed out their e-portfolio, top 3 students with most profit received prizes
Distributed prizes to students who won the Applied Tech raffle at the Vital Link Showcase, over 100 entries!
Started Mobile Rain Barrel Project for P21 CSUF Sustainability Showcase in April (Research & Skit)
Started cross-curricular Downhill Car Racing Project for May (created website & Google Presentation)

Participated in Microsoft's "Choose to Code" TouchDevelop Contest and won $500 on DonorsChoose.org
